Every bra fabric is moldable?

Almost all bra and beachwear fabrics can be molded with good results by Jdeal-Form, except certain laces, tulle, macramé. Satins and taffetas. We are available to do free tests on your fabrics.

Every kind of fiber is moldable ?

No. Many natural or artificial fibers (cotton / rayon / linen / etc.) are NOT thermoplastic, and their apparent moldability could last just a washing cycle. To solve the problem, ask for a fabric sporting you fiber mixed with at least 30% of Polyester or Nylon fibers.

Can you mold my laminated fabrics ?

If both fabrics are moldable, and they are glued together without any kind of support, there are no problems. However it is safer to submit us a few cuts of fabric for some free testing. Should be a foam or any other kind of support inside your laminated fabric, we can mold it on our continuous-cycle machinery ( we need to receive your fabric in rolls 145 cm wide )..

My fabric tends to roll-up: can you mold it ?

If it is already punched in your shape, may be really hard (if not impossible) to mold it. Instead, if you are going to supply it in squares, the problem could be solved cutting larger pieces of fabric.

My fabric is transfer printed / embroidered / flocked / … can you mold it ?

Must be checked and tried: lightest fabrics can be a problem..

What amount of fabric is needed for tests ?

At least 10 “squares” of 20x20 cm for each size requested, plus 20 pieces for general machine set-up. Machine set-up is not necessary if we have already tested the fabric type (contact us for more information).

Fabric can change colour with molding ?

Not usually: it could happen if the dyes employed exhibit a thermotropic (= changing shade if heated). It is always safer to check all the fabric colors before using them in your collections.

Pre-cut fabrics can be molded ?

Yes, if there is enough fabric to be held during the molding process. Usually, all lightweight fabrics ( ex.: elasticized tulle ) can be molded as pre-cut.

Can you mold two kinds of fabric at the same time (not laminated) ?

It is possible, but usually it is hard to obtain the same result on both fabrics.

I need to mold squares of fabric. What is the minimum size ?

Side size must be at least equal to mold diameter plus 40 mm.

I need to mold one-piece bras : there is any problem ?

In this case we fold in two the fabric, and both cups are molded at the same time: this causes the fold to be visible with some fabrics (between breasts)..

Can you mold seamless bras ?

Surely. Our experience is that this kind of fabric is not usually finished in a constant manner, and quality and repeatability are to be accepted as lower than with traditional fabrics.

Can you mold half-sewn bras ?

Yes, if the sewing thread is heat-resistant.

I want to send my fabric as squares to mold and punch. What must I do ?

Make a notch on one side of all the squares, to identify the fabric direction.
Supply a drawing with the displacement of the molding inside the punching perimeter and its orientation against fabric direction. Specify type and size of punching to be used.
Fabric squares have to be supplied with zig-zag layers (layers must be alternated with external side : one up, one down, one up, one down…) . Otherwise the production process could be longer and service cost could be higher.
For each size/model we need to know mold type, depth, punch type and size. (as from our molding report issued when testing your fabric).
